Kadence Buchanan asked:

Playstation 3 represents Sony’s 7th attempt at creating a home video game console system, and arguably their most innovative yet. Set for release on November 17th of 2006, this unit will shape our expectations for video games in the years to come.

The system will represent a marked increase in price when it comes to video game systems, but it will also offer unrivaled features that cannot be found in any console to date. The suggested retail price for North America has been set at roughly $499, an almost twofold increase on it’s release price for the Playstation 2. The price is justified, however, by the host of options that the Playstation 3 will incorporate. Just like the Playstation 2, the Playstation 3 will be backwards compatible with all prior Playstation products. This means that you can play your classic Playstation 1 and 2 games on the system without making any modifications. The Central Processing Unit of the Playstation 3 will run at a speed of 3.2 gigahertz, which is a truly powerful number. The 3.2 gigahertz offers roughly the same performance as current top-of-the-line computers, and 512 megabytes of RAM ensures that the memory capabilities of the Playstation 3 match up with its processing power. Several different types of media will be usable on the PS3, including blu-ray discs, DVDs, CDs, and SACDs. The system will also come equipped with a hard drive in which you can store your saved games to a much higher capability than by the memory cards associated with the Playstation 2. PS3 will also represent Sony’s first console that features built-in internet connectivity. Connecting via a 1-gigabit Ethernet port, the PS3 is also compatible with Bluetooth technologies, as well as 802.11b/g wireless standards.

The controllers on the PS3 offer numerous similarities to those found in the PS2. The controller itself is almost identical to the PS2 controller, save a reflective metal coloring and LEDs which help with the wireless functionality of the controller. That is another key part of the PS3 – all of the controllers that will be offered shall be wirelessly connected. This saves a lot of headache when it comes to keeping cords from getting tangled and finding optimum places to play multiplayer games in a cramped room.

The Playstation 3 already has numerous titles under development which will be of much desire to the video gaming crowd; additional installments to popular game series’ such as Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, and the ever-so-controversial Grand Theft Auto are in the works, ensuring that Sony will satisfy its fan base when this console is released. Will the PS3 live up to the hype? At a $499 price tag, its tough to tell, but the features offered by this new console should keep gamers chomping at the bit for this system.

video game review
Online game rentals have become the best alternative to playing many different video games without spending hundreds of dollars to do so. We are talking about web sites that offer you the possibility to pick out the game rentals you want and they send it your way postage free within 2 or 3 days. You can do this from the comfort of your very own home, by selecting the game titles that you see advertised on the television, yesterdays magazines and have them ready and shipped to you in a short amount of time.

Online rentals can help you test your favorite console video games before you decide to actually purchase them. If you do not like it, you will not be stocked with it, just send it back and get another one, no extra charge. This happens because most packages offered by the web sites include unlimited online game rentals per month and the price is different depending on the number of games you want to have at once.

The advantage of game rental companies online does not end here, there are many more advantages and incentives to want to continue being a customer. By renting games from these web sites, you can obtain a better selection of games, no late fess and no driving anywhere or to numerous stores. These web sites also provide you with many articles about the video games, from the latest news, reviews that can help when deciding on the most appropriate game to fit both you and your families taste.

In order to get the best from online video game rentals you should check first the appearance of the web site: if the company does not care to invest in the appearance of their site, maybe you should ask yourself if you want to pay a monthly fee for such a company. Do not be surprised to find out that they do not care for the video games and rentals services they need to supply.

Check and see how fast the game rentals arrive to your home and if the company has return postage fees. You should also check the policy regarding the case of losing one of the game rentals, because you do not want to pay up to 100$ for the game.

Online game rentals are the least expensive route to buying the games themselves and certainly are cheaper than the video game rental stores locally, because they provide you convenience, no late fees, no due dates and up to 10,000 titles to choose from. They can provide the necessary games for all types of gamers, from casual gamers, serious gamers or family oriented gamers.

Andrew Lawrence asked:

The Sony PS3 will be the most powerful game console ever released. The impressive parallel processing architecture and powerful GPU allows for arguably the most ambitious releases on a console ever. Certainly, the graphics and performance the system will deliver will outstrip that of its more prudent competitors, Xbox 360, and Nintendo’s Wii. It should come as no surprise then, that many of the most anticipated titles of 2007 will launch on the PS3, some on multiple platforms, others exclusively. As impressive as the hardware is, it’s really not important in the scheme of things; what really matters is what games you can actually play!

The PS3 is costly enough as it is, and as with anything else you invest in, you wouldn’t want to do it before reading up on it first. What better way to do that, than to check out some PS3 game previews? Generally speaking, the best sources of PS3 previews will come from those websites and magazines that have generally covered PS2 and the original PS from the outset. General gaming sites like Gamespy/IGN, Gamespot, 1up, and GamesIndustry.biz are generally good sources of quick, easy to read news, game previews, and reviews. The quality varies, but what is common to each of these is that they will compare their subject matter to the competition. In this case, exclusive PS3 titles would be compared against games on Xbox 360 and Wii in any PS3 game review.

If you’re already a fan, and you’re set on having a PS3, you might prefer PS3 reviews from sites that deal with nothing else. Dedicated community fansites tend to have active discussion forms full of analysis of every last detail. More to the point, the staff who run such sites are generally fans themselves, and are just as interested in the system and games they post about, which is usually reflected in their reporting. Sites like PSXextreme, PSrules, PS3 Power, and PS3 Land are all good sources of PS3 game previews. Naturally, there aren’t any PS3 reviews out yet, but these sites are already geared up and equipped to start posting them as soon as they hit the shelves in November.

Anticipated titles at release time will include the fourth game in the ever popular Gran Turismo series, Madden 07, Vampire’s Rain, Crysis, Fatal Inertia, MotorStorm, Assassin’s Creed, Call of Duty 3, NBA Live 07, Need for Speed: Carbon, Mobile Suit Gundam: Crossfire, Resistance: Fall of Man, and F.E.A.R. Also keep in mind that the PS3 is going to be widely backwards compatible with older PS and PS2 games, which you’ll be able to buy from Son’y PNP service, if you don’t already have them one of the major selling points! For your PS3, game reviews already written will be just as useful. Finally, going back even further, Sony has announced that a wide variety of Sega Genesis (MegaDrive) games will be also be compatible with the PS3, opening up yet more games to its repertoire.

You can test the service of GameFly by opting for the free trial period. For getting a single game on rent at a time, you will need to pay $15.95 a month. The cost of renting 2 games at a time is $22.95 (in addition to tax that’s applicable). With shipping centers in Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, Austin and Tampa, a game is generally delivered within two to three days. However, it may take up to a week to deliver games between returns. GameFly has a speedy return option that enables gamers to have their subsequent game shipped ahead of the official return of the title to the distribution center. This system allows quicker turnover times as compared to other online video game rental services.

If you want to exercise control over your kids’ gaming habits, GameFly is the ideal choice as it offers parental controls. If you are a credit card holder, you can prevent some particular games from being rented depending on the games’ ESRB rating. So, after you have finished playing the game, you need to return the games in a prepaid mailer that’s sent to you. GameFly allows you to purchase a game that you have rented and liked.

GameFly allows you to cancel your membership whenever you want to without charging any penalty or additional amount of money.

GameFly offers discounted games for all main platforms. They guarantee to deliver all games in great working and scratch free condition. All the games are mailed in their original case and are accompanied by the manual. If you wish to buy a game, you do not need to have a GameFly membership. Setting up a partial account and having the corresponding login id and password would be sufficient for the transaction.

GameFly also offers some incentive programs like GameFly Rewards and referral programs. The partnership with Facebook is another unique feature of GameFly. An application called GamePie can be applied to the Facebook profile of the user. This helps to create a community of gamers where you can review, rate and share games.

We conclude our GameFly review by saying that it is the best available option to rent online games.

tation 3 is one of the most popular games consoles available today, and many gamers are leaving their traditional console in favor of the gaming capacities of the PS3. The great thing about the PS3 is that it gives you the ability to download games online. Here is a quick guide to doing so. Firstly you should bear in mind that there are a number of illegitimate websites that you should avoid at all costs. Any site that claims to offer your free PS3 downloads is a site to avoid, as they could potentially harm your computer. Free sites are often rife with computer viruses, bad download speeds and even illegal file sharing. It really isn’t worth the risk to sign up with one of these sites. To ensure that your downloads are completely legitimate and work in your PS3 console you should go for a reputable downloads website - even if that means paying a small fee. These sites often offer a membership option. All it takes is a few minutes to sign up and once you become a member you will have access to as many PS3 games as you need. Often these sites will have a far better download selection than any of the free download sites, where all the latest releases should be available. These membership sites will be especially designed for the purpose of downloading PS3 games, and as such their servers will be more than equipped for many users downloading at the same time. They should also use up to date software that will protect you from any potential viruses. When you sign up to PS3 download sites you will have to pay a membership fee, and this will vary from site to site. However, the good news is that most sites do not charge much for the privilege of being able to login whenever you want and download as many games as you want. Check the terms to make sure that it is a one off fee and that there are no recurring monthly or yearly charges so that you know exactly what to expect. Choosing the best site may be difficult due to the fact that there are so many competing against one another. Try to find a site that keeps up to date with all the latest releases. Many will even offer music for you to download on your PS3 - making their services even more cost effective! You should be able to have a browse through their catalogue before signing up your details, so do a few searches to make sure they contain the kind of games you are looking for. When you sign up, follow the site’s instructions carefully to understand the process involved in transferring games from your computer to your games console. The site should also provide any necessary software for doing so. Now that you have found a legitimate service, go ahead and enjoy all your downloads! You will soon have hours of games at your fingertips to play at any time you choose. PS3 game downloads really are the most convenient, fun and addictive way of playing games!

Gaming is more mainstream than ever, but what console should you go for? Are you a casual or ******** gamer, do you like playing online, what about getting interactive? Well the good news is that there is a console for you out there that will offer exactly what you need, you’ve just got to work out what that actually is.

Xbox 360 Elite

Microsoft’s flagship gaming console offers a large hard drive to store games and movies on and a HDMI connection so you can connect it to a HDTV and watch high-definition movies or play games with crystal clear graphics. The Xbox 360 has been around for almost 3 years now so the games library that is on offer is pretty deep and this means there is bound to be something for everyone be it racing games, platformers or good old shoot-em ups.

Where the Xbox 360 edges out over the competition is the focus on online gaming. While it doesn’t strangely have wireless connectivity built in as standard you can connect online and play against other gamers from around the world. In fact you can play millions of gamers everyday as most people do. Additionally you can also download movies and TV shows via Microsoft’s Video Marketplace. Until recently you could also get a HD DVD drive for the console however following Toshiba’s shutting down of the format this is no longer available. Rumours circle the web that Microsoft will be announcing a Blu-ray player for the console in the near future.

PlayStation 3

Sony’s next generation console and follow up to the PlayStation 2, it’s a supercomputer in the making coming with a Blu-ray drive built-in and the option of a 40GB or 60GB hard drive. Considerably more expensive than the Xbox 360 even after a price cut at the end of 2007, the PlayStation also has a limited offering of games being only still under a year old on the market. However with a plethora of good games either just landing or schedule to land in 2008 all that is about to change.

Metal Gear Solid, GT5, Drake, Killzone 2 and a couple more should ignite some much needed interest and what with Sony winning the next generation DVD battle with its Blu-ray format against Toshiba’s HD DVD, the PS3 is positioned to eventually come out on top.

Nintendo Wii

While the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 pride themselves on being at the cutting edge of the gaming sphere with the latest graphics, demanding gaming and offering games gamers would want to play, Nintendo has chosen a different tactic for it gaming offering. Instead the Wii focuses on interactive game play, ditching the multimedia aspects, the video downloads or online communities instead for fun short games that involve the whole family.

Most of the best games on the Wii are short lived affairs and anyone looking to buy the console should invest in Wii Play, its fitness focused game Wii Fit (complete with balance board) and Mario Kart with the Wii Wheel, a wheel that you can clip the motion sensor controller into so you can pretend to drive while sitting on the sofa. The Nintendo Wii also has the benefit of being super cheap, at just 180 pounds it’s fast becoming the new board game for the connected dinner party generation.

Mobile phones nowadays are finding new ways to have an edge.  Due to the stiff competition with other companies they need to be creative enough to outdo each other.  One way of standing out among the rest is to offer the best free product.  Mobile phones realized that they need to be updated to the newest technologies available.  They realized that offering things like coffeemakers, blenders and microwave is simply not enough.  They need a product that would really stick and entice customers.  The product that most companies thought would be best is to offer PS3.  Having this kind of free console game is definitely one of the best offers made by mobile phones.  By just having a subscription plan you could have the most popular game console in town.  There is no longer a need to buy it and spend a hundreds of dollars.  The only thing you have to do is avail of any mobile phones that give this kind of free product.

It is really a good marketing strategy initiated by phone companies.  I am pretty sure that they got the attention of the majority consumer base.  This kind of promotion is definitely going to attract the young and the old alike.  Playstation is definitely known to most consumers and having it as a free stuff will really help to have your product known.  I could not wait to avail of this good offer.  Unfortunately, I already have a phone plan, darn it.  Mobile phones really deserve my applause for creating a marvelous marketing strategy.
