video game
Andy West asked:

Beginning in 1979, video games slowly started to invade homes and occupy young children and adults alike. The first video game was created in Japan and it has evolved greatly over the years. Video games have not only become a hobby for young children, but they have become an obsession for young adults. Individuals are constantly in competition with one another to have the latest and greatest video game. They also race one another to conquer all the levels of the most challenging games. With individuals constantly looking for new challenges, the area of video game design has increased in popularity.

Children are becoming fascinated with video games at a younger age. To prevent them from becoming zombies in front of the television, video game design companies are incorporation education, as well as physical activity to most of their video games. Games such as V-tech and Leap Frog use colors, numbers and words to educate young children on how to read and count. One recent game that has revolutionized the video game industry is Nintendo’s Wii. This game console uses video games to incorporate physical activity. Game users are required to use their physical skills to complete tasks such as fishing, bowling and tennis. While these games aim to educate and increase physical activity among youth, there are still traditional games on the market that simply aim to entertain.

What once started as a recreational activity, video gaming has now become a sport to some people. There are actually tournaments around the world where individuals compete against one another in the latest video games. Individuals also create teams to compete against individuals from all different countries. While most people think individuals play these games for fun, it is actually a very competitive sport. Individuals train for months, even years to master the skills need to conquer a game. They study each video game design and try to learn all the tricks and special features of each game. Individuals are not competing for bragging rights. Some tournaments offer prizes in excess of $500,000, proving that these games are not to be taken lightly.

With the increased popularity of video game tournaments and leisure activities, the career field of video game design is in high demand of qualified candidates. Colleges all over the country offer programs to teach students about video games and how to design them. Courses include work in graphic design, script writing and drawing. Classes are also offered in a variety of different specialties aimed to make individuals marketable in a variety of different fields. Students learn essential computer skills such as Photoshop, animation and cinematography. However, these computer skills are also important skills in different career fields, therefore opening numerous opportunities to graduates in this specific program

Upon completion of a video game design program, students can work for numerous different companies. Design companies are constantly looking for fresh thinkers and creative individuals to take their video games to new levels. Students in design programs learn how to conceptualize, design and plan animations and video games. They also learn how to produce and evolve character models and design levels in video games. Along with these important video game skills, students also learn marketing, business and entertainment law to make them a well-rounded candidate.

With a video game design degree, students can not only use their imaginations to create games, but they can also manage the production of games or be a critic with the skills they learn through this particular program. What was once thought of as simply entertainment has become an increasing popular industry.

video game review
It has become a sort of a trend to think about becoming a video game tester today, particularly between the younger people who are already too much into gaming. The very idea of earning funds through doing nothing but playing games attracts them no end. But, does becoming a video game tester certainly mean doing nothing various than playing games? Sadly, it is not so. A game tester’s job is a highly liable one just as some another, and it becomes over responsible for trillions of dollars are riding high on the gaming market general.

If you have a passion for gaming, then you can rest assured that nothing will excite you more than this profession. You will be getting a game CD each fortnight, which you have to install and play. There will be a review sheet with the game CD, and you will have to fill it out as you are playing the game. You will have to mention if there are some flaws in the game play or in the graphics, etc. of the game. You will also have to make a brief report of how you found the game. Some game companies would be interested to understand if you have some suggestions that could help to enhance the game.

The biggest fascination of becoming a video game tester is that you might not have to move out of the house much. Your game console is your office, and it is there that you will play games and earn your money from. If you love games, then there is no lifestyle that compares to this.

But then there are some pitfalls also. Nothing can be so picture perfect; there has to be some catch. And there are quite a few catches with being a game tester. For one, you are not playing for yourself, but you are testing out the game for commercial purposes. So, you will need to be very minute in your observations of the game. You cannot let anything miss, for that will spoil your credibility with the gaming company for coming projects.

Also, documenting the flaws is a tedious affair. You will want to be very descriptive and explain the visual defect in words, which is a case for someone who does not have the power of creative expression. You might need occasionally to play the same level at dissimilar resolutions to find out whether the case exists at all kinds of settings. If there are cut scenes with audio, you will requirement to be very observant to what they are saying (gamesters do not like listening much, I understand), and report problems with diction, lip sync or anything like that.

But the harrowing portion is having to pause the game repeatedly to report some drawbacks in it. This does reduce the thrill of the game. Even if they allow you to keep the CD when the game is done, you will have played the game so thoroughly well that you might not want to play it ever again. And you might have to actually go and give the companies your review in people sometimes. So much for the myth that video game testers get to be at home all the time!

But, in the last count, game testing is not a bad career at all. It does require professionalism and perfection, but then which job doesn’t? If you have the needful skills and a passion for games, you must seriously consider taking up this excited profession.

video game review
Who doesn’t love games?!? I don’t think I can name one person who doesn’t enjoy playing video games online or offline, it’s just a fact of life! Between the DS lites and the Xbox 360s there’s no denying that gaming is a large part of a lot of people’s lives. According to market researcher David Cole, who runs the firm DFC Intelligence, his best estimate is that 40 percent of U.S. households own a working video-game console. Michael Pachter, an analyst for Wedbush Morgan Securities, estimates that 52% of households own consoles. Neither Cole nor Pachter is counting handheld devices, such as Nintendo’s Game Boy or Sony’s PlayStation Portable (PSP). Whether it’s 40% or 52% those are still pretty large percentages regarding ownership of gaming consoles! I don’t know about you but, I have at least three major consoles and I just bought a DSlite very recently and I absolutely love it!

The one console I don’t have that I really want is the Wii along with the ifit, once or twice I have played on it with the boxing game and it seems like a really cool wait to not only blow off some steam but only get your heart pumping. As long as you can get past looking like a semi idiot, bouncing around punching; nothing, then you can really get into this game and this console! The Wii is usually pretty expensive even if you manage to buy one on eBay! A few weeks ago I fought for it but stopped at $500. Eventually two people fought and it got sold for $4500! Recently however, being the researcher I am, I found a few sites online that allow you to buy Wiis for a really great price, these stores are known as cheap or discount stores. I prefer the word discount because when you say the word “cheap” a lot of people assume it’s of lesser quality which just isn’t the case!

These sites are cool because they aren’t some big whig store like Circuit City or Best Buy but, they still carry high quality consoles, games and accessories, plus they are 50% cheaper than the brand name stores. The only thing you really have to do is make sure the site your buying from is legit, you can do this by simply going to your favorite search engine and looking for reviews about the website in mind. You will either find good things or bad things, but take notice if you hear 99 great reviews and 1 bad review, chances are it’s still a great store, but that person is probably trying to cause problems for whatever reason! It’s a shame, but it does happen! If the site looks good and you see good reviews, and they offer good prices, I say go for it! You don’t have anything to lose, only a Wii to gain, and to me that’s well worth the research to find an affordable one online! Good luck!

Putting video on the PSP is not as easy as it sounds. But with a quick step-by-step guide, you should get around to it and actually maybe understand what’s happening. This article will show you how to put video on your psp.

Step 1

You need a good memory stick, depending what type of length of video you want to watch. I encourage you to get a 512MB memory stick.

Step 2

Connect the computer and the PSP together, making sure that the PSP is switched off to begin with, and switch the PSP on once the connection is made.

Step 3

Turn on your PSP, and go to the Settings Menu. In this menu select USB Connection and press X. Your computer should now detect your psp as an extra “removable drive”. Your computer will assign a letter to this drive. Let’s call it X: for future reference.

Step 4

Go to this removable drive with your Windows Explorer. There is a folder called PSP there. Create a new folder called MP_ROOT at this level if it is not already created. (So you will have X:MP_ROOT).

NOTE: DO NOT ERASE THE OTHER FOLDERS UNDER X:PSP THEY SHOULD BE CALLED GAMES, MUSIC, SAVEDDATA AND PHOTO OR THE PSP FOLDER

Step 5

In the MP_ROOT folder we just created (X:MP_ROOT), create a folder named 100MNV01 if it is not already present. You will get X:MP_ROOT100MNV01.

Step 6

You are going to have to take the videos you have, and convert them to mp4 format if they are not already in this format.

Step 7

Copy the mp4 files to the folder we just created on the memory stick (X:MP_ROOT100MNV01). Save the movies you want to watch in the folder “100mnv01” and then you are ready to rock! The movies can be started by clicking on the saved image inside the memory card. One thing to note though is that the movies need to be in MP4 format and if you want to convert your existing DVDs etc to this format you may want to get some specialized software.

Step 8

Now all you need to do is start downloading MP4 videos. A search for “MP4 videos” in Google in July of 2006 brought up 4,660,000 results, so there’s plenty to choose from! Once you have your video(s) downloaded on to your PSP, go to Video > Memory Stick, and there you should see the thumbnail file of the video. To play the video, click on the thumbnail. You can access the screen display modes via the triangle button. There are four to choose from. Now you know how to put videos on PSP, so enjoy your viewing!

The site below is the biggest PSP Download Center where you can find games, movies, music, cheat codes, game reviews, software and everything you need to turn your boring PSP into a personal multimedia entertainment unit. I have been using this site for a couple of month and i am very satisfied. You will only need to copy downloaded file on your PSP. I recommend it to everyone who has PSP.

mark asked:

What are freebie sites? How do they work?

Freebie sites can afford to give expensive items like a Free PS3, a Free Wii, or a Free XBox 360 because advertisers, loaded with cash, pay them to do so! You’re never asked to pay for your gift…ever! However, in order for freebie sites to get something small in return, all they ask of you is to try the advertiser out for a bit. For example, there are tons of people who tried out Video Professor or Blockbuster (totally legit/popular companies) by signing up for their services. A lot of freebie participants have stayed with these big-name companies after their trial and continue to love their services, while others have chosen not to do so. Either path you choose, you are allowed and you will get credit. After all, advertisers pay freebie companies, who in turn reward you, to encourage you to join!

Many offers range from $3-7 for the trial period. These “pocket change” costs usually cover shipping and processing fees. However, there are also many totally…totally free offers too! On every freebie site these costs and the crediting time is mentioned so you can choose whatever you like (from lists up to 20-100 offers). This is step 2. Step 1 is simply signing up for the freebie site.

In the last step, the member then gets a couple of buddies to do the same process (as outlined in the “hot and cool freebies” section to the right) and they get credit when they do a simple “offer” (i.e. spend like 5-10 minutes signing up to an advertiser). For every person that tries an advertiser out, the advertisers pay freebie companies around $50-60… put it this money together and the freebie site buys your gift FOR you! Tax and shipping included.

Of course, at first glance anyone will think this is a scam or an illegitimate pyramid scheme. As a matter of truth, that’s what everyone else assumes before they understand how this system works and why it still exists - it’s perfectly legal and pretty darn easy to benefit off! This is a new form of marketing called “incentive viral marketing” - where companies reward you for trying them out. Think of the gift you receive as “cashback” or a rebate, if you like, from the advertiser TO you.

So, now that you understand how it works you might want to get started. To do that, just go to Google, enter the item you want and add “free” to the query. You’ll find hundreds of freebie sites. Pick one and then enjoy earning gifts/making money.

How can I start getting free stuff?

Visit the sites mentioned above to get started from legit freebie sites.

Bishojo game is a Japanese term, also being spelled as bishoujo game, and also called as girl game or gal game it is a kind of PC game that includes interactions with attractive anime - style girls. Although nearly bishojo games involve romance or *** appeal of some kind, they may or may not be ****. But still it contains much more pornographic characters as compare to renai game.

Bishojo game is uniquely a Japanese cultural phenomenon; they have virtually no competitions for the game in the west in video game industries. They acquire a flexible fraction of Japanese market, they make majority of offline PC games in Japan, the most popular have sold over million copies. Thus, bishojo games remain by far the least known for the major video games genre outside of Japan.

Game play

Bishojo artworks can be grafted on any type of game, gameplay in bishojo games are spreas widely. For example, Gals panic is the classic arcade game, Qix where the objective is to uncover 80% or more the picture of the girl, and Magical Drop is a puzzle game where the player makes chains of colored spheres, and the girls act only as a backdrop. In many cases, pictures of girls are used as a mainstream for skilled play, such as a strip Mahjong.

Pornographic content

The amount and degree of pornography used in bishojo games covers a wide spectrum. In almost all the popular games, the girls are fully clothed, with the skimpiest clothing being in swimsuits. The explicitness ranges from showing panties and bras, to ******** nudity, to explicit sex, to ******** brutality and fetishism appealing to niche markets. The degree of pornography in a game is often been estimated from its atmosphere: most mainstream games have a bright atmosphere with sunny days and cute artwork, whereas the ******** will usually be dark and gloomy.

Players who go for non-pornographic bishojo games, especially renai games, always say that they enjoy them mainly for their stories, drama and characters. This may be true, but another major point of appeal is the pictures and voices of attractive women, even if they in clothes.

video game review
Those who are interested in video games and online business finally have a way to combine both of their passions. Selling video games online is becoming a popular method of generating revenue, and for some people, it has become their sole source of income. The video game industry is consistently growing, and there is always room for new entrants. Consumers are increasingly turning to the Internet to buy video games, as it is much easier to find low prices online than it is in a retail store.

To compete successfully in the video game industry, it is necessary that you find a reliable, affordable wholesaler to provide you with products. Finding a wholesaler can be more difficult than it first seems. Simply utilizing a search engine and trying to locate video game wholesalers yields few relevant results, and the options that do come up are often not available to the average small business entrepreneur.

When you finally do come upon a wholesaler, they may not respond to your inquiries. In fact, many websites who claim to be wholesalers are actually retailers or resellers themselves, and have climbed their way up the rankings through illegitimate means. Despite all of these seemingly impenetrable inhibitors, there are ways to unveil the cream of the crop of video game wholesalers.

One of the most effective, although somewhat time consuming, ways of gaining contacts is by asking for references. Ask around in a local gaming community for tips, or join a forum and research possible opportunities. By going to a website that is focused on the video game industry, and participating in the community, you will eventually find a perfect connection.

Another effective way to bypass search engines is by going directly to a wholesaler review website. Not only do review websites provide a fantastic list of wholesalers, but you can also read previous experiences buyers have had with specific companies, so you can easily find which businesses are the highest quality and most reliable.

Make sure to invest a fair amount of time in unearthing the best choice, as the wholesaler that you choose ultimately affects the success of your own business. Read as many customer reviews as you can, as the more knowledge you have about particular wholesalers, the more informed your decision will be. You cannot spend enough time doing research; you do not want to decide on a wholesaler prematurely, and then find out later that you made a poor decision.

While the profit ratios are higher if you choose to stock products yourself, you can still make a fair living by employing drop shipping. With this technique, you sell the item, and then the wholesale company ships the product to the customer for you. You do not even have to handle the product at all; the only things you need to worry about are sales and marketing. The only problem is that when it comes to online selling, price is a more important factor than with offline sales, and if you cannot compete price wise, it is much more difficult to sell, especially when people can find lower prices easily.

Once you have found a reliable wholesale company, you need to choose a selling method. The form most used by sellers today is an auction site, usually eBay. With an auction website, you can set up a store for a low monthly fee and stock as many products as you want. After a few months, when you have established yourself as a brand, your sales will skyrocket and you can expand to your own, personalized domain.

video game review
Being a fan of the Robert Ludlums Bourne series, I was very interested to see a Bourne game out. Now, movie games are usually not very good, actually, there are few examples of good movie games and Bourne Conspiracy is no exception.

The game starts a few days before where the first movie begins. Here you are creeping around the docks trying to get to the boat where your target is. To get there, your going to have to battle a few nameless henchmen, and well thats about it.

Controlling Bourne is not always the easiest task. He is a big guy and there are narrow passage ways. Combined, you get one headache after another when your trying to run and you keep running into walls. Even the slightest clip on a wall will have you running in one spot like a 1980’s treadmill. Taking cover behind walls is not always very effective nor an easy task. The game is using the unreal 3 engine, tries to give us a very Gears of War cover system, only not as effective. Think of it as how TMNT used Ubisofts prince of Persia engine.

The shooting in the game is also clunky and hard to master. Again, using the unreal 3 engine, the game uses the pop out, over the shoulder technique. And like the cover system, it fails. Getting a headshot is more difficult than getting Gary Busey to make sense when talking about anything. Now on to maybe the games only saving grace, the fighting.

The fighting system is very basic and repetitive. You combine strong and weak attacks to create combos. At first it’s a lot of fun, but after doing 30 times, you just wanna turn the game off. The animations are very predictable so blocking is very simple, and all the enemies do the same moves. Hell, this game even has one of my major pet peeves in games, repetitive character models. You beat generic guy with wrench about 15 times in one mission.

There are moments in the game that had me saying “that was awesome”. Those were the moments where you build enough adrenaline, gained by defeating enemies to trigger take down sequences. These are instant kills on enemies where you smash their head into a wall or break their fingers. These are very useful on bosses, which like the fighting, just falls short of cool.

Overall, if your a fan of the Bourne series than I would recommend you RENT the game. It follows the story line and throws in alot of filler. Other than that I would not recommend it to anyone else. The repetitive gameplay and lack of depth keep this from living up to the coolness that is Jason Bourne.

ps3
Andrew Lawrence asked:

Of the three consoles competing for market dominance in the latest generation, the PS3 and Nintendo’s Wii are the most distinct from each other. While they are certainly both powerful systems, and similarities can be easily drawn between them, they have arrived on the market through very different design philosophies, with marketing strategies to suit.

On one hand, the PS3 is pushing every technological limit it can. Using an ambitious processor architecture, top-end graphics acceleration, and large stores of memory, the PS3 is one grunty system! It also includes a range of technologies that are either still at the bleeding-edge prototype stage, untested in mass production, such as the CPU that behaves like an eight-core chip and Blu-Ray Disk drive, or are considered the high-end of two alternatives, in the case of using licensed Bluetooth in favour of generic wireless technology, and the full HDTV support, HDMI output, and full 7.1 surround sound, rather than mere 5.1. If the E3 screenshots of the announced games are anything to judge by, graphically, they will challenge even the best-looking PC titles, which is rare for console systems.

Retailing for prices upwards of US$600 significantly higher in some countries and for pre-orders the PS3 is a truly extravagant system.

Sitting in defiant contrast to PS3’s whole design philosophy is the Wii. Nintendo opted not to simply load their system up with enough grunt to blow every competitor out of the water in fact, their approach was to not even try. Nintendo have opted to instead take a prudent path, by offering a well balanced system, not ridiculously overpowered, yet perhaps still on par with a medium to high-end PC gaming rig.

Like with the PS3, they have produced a system that is highly backwards-compatible with legacy games and accessories, includes Bluetooth support, which their innovative motion-sensitive controllers make use of, again like the PS3. The console has legacy memory card, Flash card, USB, and ethernet support, allowing for LAN and Internet use. It’s the choice of games on offer is the first indication that this is a different sort of system. Certainly some of the same demanding titles are in the list, but it’s populated more by simpler platformer and parlour games, which both attract their own significant fan-bases.

The controllers, including the Wii Remote, and Sensor Bar, have been a huge hit with E3 and TGS attendees, already well-received by the gaming press. The main indicator to distinguish the Wii from the PS3, which may well give it the edge it needs to outperform the superior system in the marketplace, is its price. It starts at a much more manageable US$250, with the highest prices outside North America only reaching $100 more. So marked is the price difference, that Microsoft and Nintendo reps quietly put the word out at 2006’s E3 Expo, that people would be better served by buying both an Xbox 360, AND a Nintendo Wii, rather than a PS3. To compound The Case Against Sony as their critics may well be phrasing it supply problems have recently caused delays for the launch of PS3 outside Japan, USA, and Canada, giving the Wii launch window three or four months with only the Xbox as competition.

When it comes to PS3 vs Nintendo Wii, the Wii does not compete on any technical level. It certainly has respectable system specs, but the PS3 is simply a more powerful system that will deliver better performance. Whether this translates to more fun is clearly a choice for each individual to make, because Sony has no short of critics saying that it does not. The three biggest criticisms the PS3 has had to face are a perceived lack of innovation, an arguably outrageous launch price, and a lack of supply during the most crucial period. This all contrasts with reciprocal praise on the same points of the Wii. As it stands currently, both systems are pre-selling like hotcakes, so it will be some time before a clear leader emerges, assuming one will at all.
