Being able to get downloadable PS3 video games is awesome.  Especially when you’re able to get all of the top Playstation 3 games.  You’re probably not sure which ones you can get or where to get them from.  So, what I’m going to do is share with you some downloadable PS3 video games.

That way, you can have a lot of fun with your Playstation 3.

The downloadable video games for the PS3 are:

1.  Rockband.  This is an awesome game to get for your Playstation 3.  If you haven’t played it with your friends yet, you are missing out on a lot of fun.  Make sure you download this game.  It’s a lot fun.  You’ll enjoy playing it.

2.  Grand Theft Auto IV.  This is another great PS3 game that’s downloadable.  GTA4 is awesome.  If you are a fan of GTA, you will love this one.  It’s fun.  So, be sure you get this one as soon as you can.

3.  Fallout 3.  This is another one of the downloadable PS3 video games.  Fallout 3 is great.  You will really like this one.  Be sure to get it now.

4.  Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.  This is another awesome game that is downloadable for the Playstation 3.  If you are a Mortal Kombat fan, you’re going to think this game is awesome.  Especially when you can fight SubZero against Batman.

For most of these picks, eating is an integral part of the game. There are a ton of games where characters collect different kinds of food for points, but for these characters, eating is pretty much essential! Gather your eating utensils and dig in to this goofy list of the gluttons of gaming! The music at the beginning and at the intro to #1 was made by me. The music played during the #1 spot is “Pacman (original)” by Power Pill AKA Aphex Twin. Images were found at random. Wages vary from company to company, so it’s somewhat difficult to give an exact figure on how much a video game beta tester can or will be paid. It seems almost like a Christmas ritual: there’s a Next Big Thing in the video game world almost every holiday season. Last year featured a particularly interesting competition between the new gaming hardware put on the market by Nintendo and their prime competitor, Sony with its PlayStation series.

The Sony PS3 is the high-end, bells-and-whistles choice between the two. It includes high-definition graphics, a hard disk, and a Blu-ray Disc drive that delivers great image quality. The top tier 60GB hard drive version also includes a hefty $600 retail price. Nintendo’s Wii (pronounced “we”) costs $250 and builds in Wi-Fi (but not ethernet). Like the PS3, it has an SD Card slot and can display photos, but its standard-def DVD drive can’t yet play movies (Nintendo and Sonic Solutions are working on that).

What Nintendo does have that keeps it in the game is a unique gaming remote device (the Wiimote) and an enormous library of games. The PS3 enters the market with significantly more horsepower and better graphics, but their game options are, at this point, fairly limited. Wii came on the market with 62 games available; the PS3 opened with an inventory of 20 games.

PC World’s review provides a clean portrayal of the difference between the two systems. The graphics on the PS3 are state of the art 1080p high-definition and present a new level of quality for gamers. The Wii’s graphic capability is limited to standard definition, which is equivalent to the PS2, Sony’s last (and highly successful) video game console. However the Wii has a remote gaming control that utilizes motion-sensing technology, so that the gamers’ motions with the remote are mimicked in the game. If you’re playing football, a pass requires a passing motion with the remote. A sword fight will require a little air-fencing as part of the game participation.

The intuitive nature of the Wii remote is its strength, along with the relatively inexpensive cost compared to the PS3. Wii also has an additional controller called the Nunchuk which is a joystick-type device that works in conjunction with the motion-sensing remote.

The graphics and multiple uses (the PS3 includes a Blu-ray HD DVD player) are what make the Sony product attractive. When they both came on the market, the fact that each relied on separate characteristics to define their value has made for an interesting market contest.

The PS3 is the high-horsepower (and high priced) option on the market. It can handle HD DVDs, play back your digital photographs, and connect to the internet with a built in browser. Its graphics are unparalleled, and it comes with a decent game inventory that will at least get you started. It too has a new controller, one that utilizes a tilt feature that is a token effort at motion sensitivity.

With the Wii, Nintendo decided to forego the digital video wars and focus on a simple box with unique controls that is designed for fun. The Wii can play GameCube games (Nintendo’s last offering) and has been introduced with a new addition to the chart-busting Zelda game series. While the Wii hasn’t done much to upgrade the visual quality of the gaming experience, it has added substantial new dimension to the gaming process itself. It too can be utilized for web access.

Nintendo’s decision to target so-called “casual gamers” seems to have paid off in the short run. It’s too early to pick the long term winner; both companies limited their Christmas product issue in order to ensure sellouts and high product demand. The PS3 definitely has a price-break issue that will offset some gamers’ lust for the best graphics out there. On the other hand, it’s a system with a great future. Wii’s future is now, for the most part, and the product issues an intriguing invitation for a substantially new gaming experience, even if it occurs using last year’s graphics.

Every year major blockbusters open into theatres that seem to instantly capture the limelight. And if it is an action oriented film, than you can almost guarantee a video game not too far behind. And no matter how well the film is reviewed and accepted by critics and the audience, the video game that follows it usually receives overwhelmingly negative reviews.

Every now and then there is a game based on a film that is actually good and manages to capture the spirit of the film and bring gamers back again and again, but most of the time the game falls flat. This usually leads to gamers asking why can’t they make a good movie game? The answer is a little more complicated than one may think.

One thing that creates a hindrance to the ability of creating a good movie game is that there is only so much time to produce the game. After the script of the movie is produced, that does not mean the game can rush immediately into production. The cast must be announced, the visual design team must work with the game developers in order for the audience to recognize where the game came from. However, this does not always mean that the game will be terrible.

For instance, the video game based off of the 2004 blockbuster Spider-Man 2 went on to receive great reviews from critics and fans. However, other games based off films which have plenty of time to be perfected fall flat.

A good case in point would be the Superman Returns game, which was not considered terrible, but was merely repetitive and had uninspired game play. Another example of a movie game that fell flat is Minority Report: Everybody Runs, where the characters did not even resemble their film counterparts, and the game suffers further from dull game play.

It has come to pass that the standard used for movie games is not very high at all. In fact, the games are almost entirely ignored, but reviewed simply for tradition’s sake (and possibly in the hope that they will be good).

Bad games based on movies are just like bad movies themselves. They are over marketed as good games in the hopes of receiving some form of audience. But, as previously stated, sometimes a good one does emerge, and that makes them occasionally worth the wait.

Cheaters never win and winners never cheat. When it comes to video game cheats, however, cheating really means shortcuts, tips, tricks, and extras.

Some of you may have fond memories of Pong, Battlezone, and Asteroids. I know I’ve spent my entire week’s allowance every Saturday and the local arcade. In all honesty, I still play these games today on my pc. They offer the simplistic arcade action that some of us crave.

Today’s video games have gotten so complicated that entire books for a single game title have been written on how to finish them. The graphics, strategies, and multiplayer online aspects have taken video gaming to a whole new level. To be honest, it’s rare that I can even finish a game anymore, let alone win all the bonus cars or cool weapons.

After playing for a few hours I’ll often get stuck. Either I can’t finish a level or can’t find the special weapons to defeat the boss. If it weren’t for cheat codes, I’d probably just give up. Never enjoying the full potential game play, never getting my money’s worth. Even on the easiest settings, it’s almost impossible to finish a game anymore without cheating.

So before I buy any game, I’ll go online and check out the latest reviews, graphics, and best price. But I’m also looking to see if they have a walk through, cheats, and extras. You’ll usually find these written up by the professional paid reviewers, but don’t forget to check out the player reviews and forum. Sometimes the actual gamers will find even more cheats and extras that the professional reviewers missed.

No matter how good the preview is I want to see what the end users are actually saying. Also, no matter how bad the professional review is, I want to see what the actual gamers are saying. I can tell you that I’ve thoroughly enjoyed games that scored very low with the professional reviewers. After reviewing the gamer’s scores, I found they often enjoyed games much more than the professional reviews would lead you to believe.

Also check out your local video game store, ask the sales people what they think of the games. I found most of them are big time game players too and will give you an honest answer. We gamers need to look out for each other, don’t we?

Any hard core gamers knows that many of the best games - or at least the most unique games, come right out of Japan. Most of these games never see the light of day in the United States or Europe and gamers are left wanting and drooling for games they’ll never have the chance to play. At least that was the case with the Gamecube and now also with the Nintendo Wii. Then along came a little disc called the Freeloader, that allowed any Gamecube to play any Japanese game with ease, with no mod chip required and no need to open your console.

Why do I mention Gamecube and Wii playing import games? Simply because the Nintendo Wii is also compatible with every single Gamecube Game, including the FreeLoader disc. Because the Nintendo Wii can boot Gamecube Discs / games, you can also load the Freeloader and finally take advantage of all of the great Import games on the market. The Nintendo Wii Freeloader is a disc, that allows any Wii owner to play import Gamecube games without a mod chip. As you may have guessed, the Freeloader was not actually manufactured for the Nintendo Wii, but was instead a product that has been out for several years (with various updates) for the Nintendo Gamecube. Since the Wii can play Gamecube games and is backwards compatible, it will also load the FreeLoader on any Wii console allowing you to play any region Gamecube game with ease.

Now, if this were just any kind of disc, I wouldn’t write a review on it. And often times, when I talk about import games, people ask me why I would want to play games that are all in Japanese and can’t be played anyway. Or ask me what the big deal is with these games from Japan. The fact of the matter is, over 60% of Japanese import games can be played with no problem. I’m a big fan or racing games and some of the BEST racing games for Gamecube have only been released in Japan. The same would go for first person shooters. But more than that, some of the games are just so very unique, so well designed, that you must try them. You’ll immediately become an import game fan once you do.

Regardless of the genre of games you like. By being able to play import games, you’re actually expanding your software library, or at least the available selection by thousands of additional games. Many of these games you won’t hear about at your local Blockbuster, or in magazine. But online review sites like IGN.com or GameSpot.com have entire sections devoted to import games and import gaming, because there are a tremendous amount of great games available.

This brings us back to the Freeloader. The Freeloader was developed by Datel as a means to cut out the need for installing a mod chip in your Gamecube console to have access, and the ability to play these games. Before the Freeloader, you would need to install a Gamecube Mod Chip like the Xeno Gamecube or the Viper Gamecube chip to play your import and personally backed up games. While the Freeloader won’t let you play backup games, it will effortlessly allow you to play Import games from any region on any Gamecube.

I want to also say that this is NOT an article to promote the Freeloader as the next best thing since sliced The Legend Of Zelda for the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii. If you’re not into Japanese games, or import games in general, and have no interest in them, then the Freeloader is not for you. It doesn’t offer any extras or advantages for any Nintendo Wii or Gamecube owner who is happy to just play the offering of games available in their own country. Its sole purpose is to allow gamers like myself, and tens of thousands of others, to enable the playing of Import games. While I am stressing just Japanese games in this article as they are my own personal favorite. European gamers can also play the latest games released only in the USA on their PAL Gamecube or Nintendo Wii systems as well. Gamecube import games are not just from Japan. If you’re a fan or Rally racing games, many of the best games in that genre are released in the UK and Europe.

Just how do you use the Gamecube Freeloader on the Nintendo Wii? First of all, think of it as a Nintendo Wii Freeloader. Insert the disc into your Nintendo Wii just as you would your Gamecube, and then select it from your Wii Dashboard. You simply put the disc in the Gamecube or your Nintendo Wii, wait for it to load and then pick the map representing the region you want to play. You’ll then have to eject the disc from your Nintendo Wii, or open the Gamecube lid, and take out the Freeloader, put in the game you want to play and it will just load for you. It couldn’t get any easier really.

In closing, the Freeloader for the Gamecube or Nintendo Wii is meant to do one thing, and one thing only. It does it with ease and work perfectly each and every time. It’s not intended to do anything else. Comparing it to other software or add ons for either the Gamecube or the Nintendo Wii would be pointless. If you want to start getting the latest import games without having to wait until the hit the local market - if they ever do at all, then the Freeloader is the easiest and cheapest way to get you started.
