There seems to be a constant battle on how video games are affecting the children that are playing them, but the fact is that video games can teach children too. In fact, video games can help to enhance the reading skills of a child, not to mention help build their coordination and visual skills.

In several video games, your child get to become the main character who travels throughout the game purchasing different items needed to complete the video game successfully, while reading special instructions given throughout the video game. Since the child is simply interested in playing the video game they become unaware that they are actually reading and often times the reading is above their regular grade level. You may often hear your child say they do not like to read, but if you will take the time to watch them play particular video games and tell them you can not see the writing that well, then hopefully they will read it to you and you will become fairly surprised.

Video games can even inspire children to new interests as well. In fact, when a child plays a video game that they do not know much about, then you may see your child bringing books home from the school library that are similar to their new video game. When a child is participating in a video game, then children can see history come alive. Each video game that your child plays must be viewed as having a positive side instead of listening to all the hubba of others, because video games can teach your child different skills.

Some video games are designed to teach the skills necessary for making a living as they give the gamer a variety of different choices. Video games also confront gamers with issues such as moral dilemmas, solving challenging problems, and developing social relationships as well. Children who play video games often have the pick up from a cluttered area than those that do not. In fact, studies are now showing that when learning is added into video game playing children begin being faster at the other activities they participate in.

Some where in the future of time teachers may begin incorporating the playing of video games into the assignments of their students. Several government agencies will use computerized video games to assist in stimulating certain types of situations for their employees. In fact, even the military and NASA train with computerized video games, which is due to the changes in computer technology. By looking more at the positive side of video games parents and teacher could really bring themselves closer to children.

Often times children are playing their video games on-line, which makes playing video games much more of a social activity. Children and adults can learn more from each other if they take the time to learn how to play these video games with each other, which will also open up the lines of communication and understanding. Hopefully, more individuals will see video games in a more positive light instead of in a negative way most of the time.

Well here comes the Wii vs. Playstation3 battle again, in time for the Christmas holiday.

Since Nintendo Wii is in very high demand with the Wii system being more difficult to find, it’s possible that the PLaystation3 will benefit, because their sales last year were far lower than the Wii. If you are trying o find a Wii system, should you consider a Playstation3 if you can’t get the Wii?

They are very different, but both excellent systems. The Sony PS3 is the high-end, bells-and-whistles choice between the two. It has hi-def graphics, comes with its own a hard disk, and also includes a Blu-ray Disc drive which has top image quality. It also comes in several versions, with the 60GB hard drive version being much more expensive at $600 retail price.

The Nintendo Wii system costs about $250, and includes wireless Wi-Fi capabilities. Like the PS3, it has a slot for an SD Card and can display photos, but unlike the PS3 it does not play movies. Nintendo hopes to add that to the Wii in the future.

The best thing about the Wii is that it has a unique remote and nunchuck combination, as well as a huge library of games. While the PS3 has a lot more

horsepower and better graphics, they just don’t have the same volume of game choices. When Wii came on the market last year, there were sixty two games available, and since it became so popular, many more have appeared.

Even though the Wii’s graphics are limited to standard

definition, what makes the Wii so much fun is the remote technology. It is motion-sensing technology, so that a player’s physical motion moves the game play on the screen. For example, if you’re playing football, you make a passing motion with the remote to pass the ball. A sword fight will require a little air-fencing as part of the game participation.

The Wii is very accessible for all ages because of this motion-sensing remote play, and in addition the price is more affordable. Wii also has a supplementary controller piece called the Nunchuk which is a joystick-type device that works together with the motion-sensing remote for some games that have more actions.

The Nintendo Wii provides more of a simple box with unique controls that is designed for fun. The Wii can play GameCube games (Nintendo’s last offering) and has been introduced with a new addition to the chart-busting Zelda game series. Nintendo also released many old favorites such as PacMan, which can be downloaded right onto the Wii. You can even access th Internet through the Wii.

Nintendo’s decision to target casual gamers has paid off. While it might not sport the high end graphics of the PS3, it has a great future. Most average players just want to have fun, and don’t care too much about how fabulous the graphics are. For serious gamers, the PS3 is the likely choice. For everyone else, there’s the Nintendo Wii.

For all football fans, games such as Pro Evolution Soccer have given us the chance to play as our favourite team and take on the rest of the world. A new version has been released each year since its introduction to the market in 1998, and each time the graphics and special effects never let us down.

This year’s version is no different with extra special add-ons designed to make the game play even more realistic. The first, and most notable, is the deal they have with the Champions League. The game now has a fully licensed tournament complete with the traditional theme tune.

Looking a bit more into the game play, it is obvious that Konami (the makers) have put a bit more thought into special effects. It is the small details that make it a great game, for example, if it is raining you have to make sure your passes have more weight behind them or else they will not reach their target.

The other major addition to the game is the inclusion of “Become a Legend”. This is where you start as 17 year old that has just turned professional and trying to make it in the game. You only control your player during matches, which at first is strange for those who have played the game for a while. This means you have to make your own runs and get yourself in a position to score that all important goal.

The only quarrel that many people have with the Pro Evolution series is they only have the rights to have the official data for 2 teams, this changes each year and this year it is Manchester United and Liverpool. All the other teams have nicknames based on their geographical location.

Those looking to buy the game on the PS2 need to be aware that this does not have the Champions league on and due to the PS2 you do not get the full effect of the graphics. Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 is a great present for football fans this Christmas. The PS3 games list is:

1.  Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe.  This is an awesome Playstation 3 game.  It’s cool being able to fight Batman against Sub Zero.  If you are a fan of DC Universe or MK, then you should definitely download this one.  You will have a great time with it.

2.  Resistance: Fall of Man.  This is another great game for the PS3.  Resistance is awesome.  If you haven’t played it yet, be sure you do.  You’ll love it.

3.  Call of Duty 4. This is another awesome Playstation 3 game.  CD4 is cool.  If you’ve played the other versions of Call of Duty and liked them, you’ll definitely like this one.  Be sure you download as soon as you can.

4.  LittleBigPlanet.  This game is fun.  It’s awesome being able to create your very own level and have the chance to share it with other people on the internet.  If you haven’t played LittleBigPlanet yet, you should get it.  It’s fun.

5.  Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of The Patriots.  This is one of the best games for the PS3.  Metal Gear Solid 4 is awesome.  If you’ve played the other MGS games before and liked them, you’ll love MGS4.  It’s the best one.

This is the PS3 games list.  There are actually hundreds of games that you can download to your Playstation 3.  If you really want to have fun with you game system, be sure to get the games that I mentioned above.  You’ll love being able to download them.

“Do all of these game testers have college degrees from established schools?” Nope. Most of them started game testing right out of high school, and they did so just by getting out there and taking it one step at a time. If you’d like to get started in video gaming testing, read and follow the simple steps below.

Step One: Know That Being a Video Game Tester is A Career, Not A Hobby

If you want to be a professional video game tester, you have to realize that it isn’t a weekend hobby that you can do whenever your in the mood. You will be required to work and meet deadlines set by your employer. Although you may be working from home, you are still required to do your job in a professional manner. If you conduct yourself professionally and treat video game testing like an actual job instead of just a fantasy where you get to do what you please, you will be much more successful with your game testing career.

Step Two: If You Want To Be a Game Tester, You Have To Get Yourself Out There

The simple fact in the matter is that game companies do not actively list “video game tester job” openings in the paper. If they did, they would be swamped by would-be testers who don’t know the first thing about testing. So, instead of merely glancing at the paper from time to time, actually head to the companies and developers and apply for a testing job.

When you apply for a job, don’t be ashamed to brag about your expertise with video games. However, be sure that all bragging is done in a professional manner; otherwise, the interviewer might be turned off. In short, just do whatever you can to convince them that you would be a great addition to their video game tester “roster”.

If there is one thing to remember in this industry, it’s this; Experience is Everything!

Step Three: Video Game Tester Jobs Must Be Completed As Specified

Any instructions given to you by your employer, in this case a game developer, must be followed to the letter. Make sure you know precisely what information the developers want, as well as any feedback that they require.

Anything you write down or report on must be clearly legible and easily understood. The developers/programmers rely on your reports to find and fix bugs & glitches; so if your writing looks like chicken scratch and your grammar is similar to the grammar of a non-English speaking immigrant, you probably won’t last long as a game tester.

Whatever the company asks of you, do it and don’t ask too many questions. The more compliant you are and the more you work, the more video game tester jobs they will ultimately hand you. Also, it is imperative that you meet all specified deadlines; so, be sure to send your work in on time, every time.

Step 4: Don’t Stop After One Video Game Tester Job, Keep Going!

Once you get and complete your first video game testing job, don’t sit around and stare at your check thinking “Wow, I did it”. Instead, get right back out there and apply for more testing jobs.

The company you did the job for, if satisfied with your reports, will probably offer you another testing job right after that one. If they don’t, well, you could always use them as a reference for your next and future video game testing jobs.

Remember, you have already landed and completed your first game testing job; so, the hard part is pretty much over. Now, all you have to do is rinse and repeat and you will be on your way to a very successful video game tester career.

So how to get totally free games, well for starters download uTorrent (utorent.com) or any good BitTorrent client. For perfect security also have a good anti-virus software of your choice installed.

Downloading the Torrent and Speeds

After the initial preparations have been completed then go to a good torrent indexing service such as torrentz.com or mininova and search using basic keywords such as psp games, psp, ps3 games, ps2 games,ps2 or just ps3 as per the console you own. Running the torrent is quite simple, download the *.torrent file (example Stacked.torrent) open it using the torrent client, then click on the utorrent compatible list link on the indexer page, copy the trackers (these are services which index the file so more people can share, remember more people sharing means more peers and seeds, which translates into faster downloads). Paste these trackers using the advanced tab when the file is opened in the torrent client (there will be pre-existing trackers just remove them or paste over them for the best performance). Click ok and you are ready to go, the download starts, the download speed is usually 120KB for a 1Mbps connection (figures in per second) so a 100 MB file takes around 14-15 minutes to download (speeds are never constant).

ISO and CSO Formats

The best part about all this is that the files in the current torrent file can be viewed prior to downloading (just the names) and if the files are .iso or .cso (image files of PS games) you are on your way to go. Just copy them into the games folder of your memory stick and they will show up as games ready to play. For all the PS consoles the basic element to remember before you go through this procedure is that there has to be customised firmware and the Home Brew application previously installed for any of this to work and they also are available for download with instruction files on how to customise the firmware.

There are also PSP compatible movies which are pre-encoded to run directly by copying them into the movies folder of the PSP to which may be downloaded using the torrent trackers and files, so no more painstakingly converting movies or spending on expensive mp4 converters. The movies are already in the prescribed format so they may be directly played. The procedure for a movie torrent is the same as for games. The process requires a little more patience than direct downloading but hey its completely free and that makes this worth it.

Grand Theft Auto 4 is set to be released next week and game analysts are suggesting that it is not only the biggest release of the year but also the game that could really push on the sales of the next generation consoles. Unless the game is a disappointment which with all the buzz and early information seems unlikely it could potentially be the one of the biggest next generation games yet easily. Rarely before have stores stopped taking pre-orders as early as two weeks ago because they had fully allocated all of their stock.

The Grand Theft Auto series has always been popular and also very controversial. The first game encountered all kinds of problems with the BBFC and all the games since have also suffered from problems with getting a rating for the game. The games however are always stylish and usually good fun.

Rockstar have released Grand Theft Auto 1 and 2 for free on the website linked below so users can relieve the original Grand Theft Auto experience before diving into the new GTA (if you can get a copy).

Grand Theft Auto as a series has sold 70million copies of the game since 1997 which places it in the top 5 selling video games of all time. This means that the publicity may not be as intense as some of the newer Wii products because Rockstar know that this game will sell and gain hype just via the name alone.

The game has been set back various times and information was scarce about the latest installment for a while but now videos and trailers can be seen everywhere and it is save to say that early reviews are suggesting this game will be massive and by far the best installment yet with it being the first one to feature online facilities.

Some of the best features have been the voice acting such as Ray Liotta and Samuel L Jackson and whilst details are still scarce about the acting it is known that comedian Ricky Gervais will play a part in the game at a comedian in one of the clubs your character can visit. This time round you don’t play a 70s character or Hood Gangsta but a middle eastern character in once again Liberty City.

It has certainly created a lot of buzz for Rockstar and got video game fans excited and we shall see next week if the hype is justified.

The game is released next week and we shall have a full review once it is out.
