The wave of the realise of the recent JRPGs persists through this month with the release of  the Resonance of Fate from producers of Sega. Following fast on the heels of  the larger names Final Fantasy and White Knight Chronicles, this game was in peril of being completely overshadowed, but has in reality proved to be a dark horse entry, gathering a heightened degree of affection from RPG fans.

The Resonance of Fate revolves around a distant world which is descending into anarchy. Vast cities are being poisoned whilst the aristocratic higher classes do nothing to assist, and thus you command three heroes battling for justice. Gameplay revolves solely around gun battles, and as you progress deeper your firearms will be custom-made and augmented.

The battle technique employed within Resonance of Fate has split many gamers. Initially, it is fairly unforgiving and piles a variety of info onto the gamer directly, making it all appear quite troublesome when beginning. Nevertheless, commit just a few hard hours to perfecting it and the result’s an elaborate and dynamic system boasting balletic gun battles.

Visually, the game is innovative to have a look at and offers a nice steampunk style world. The characters are attractive in a generic anime manner, although the ongoing ’boutique’ feature, which allows you to customize your character’s look throughout Resonance of Fate, is a great inclusion.

Overall, this makes up a great addition to the JRPG genre. It takes a chance with the age old combat method and, while the outcome won’t be to everyones appreciation, it’s a praiseworthy effort. It looks polished and crucially includes the favourite RPG elements like towns and NPC interplay, which have been strangely astray in other recent high profile offerings. If you’re a fan of JRPGs with an individual twist, give Resonance of Fate a whirl.

This week we witness the unveiling of probably one the most highly  anticipated titles of the decade; Final Fantasy XIII. This game was really  first teased at way long ago in 2006, so the long wait for launch has been  overwhelming. Well, that wait is finally over and we will all sit  down to surely what’s going to  be the gaming release of the last few  years.

Launched in December over in Japan, Final Fantasy XIII has actually amassed a bit of controversy since its unveling, and the evaluations acquired for  the title haven’t quite been the straight aces producers Square Enix were hoping for. The main reason for this being that Final Fantasy XIII  has quite significantly revised the basic  gameplay associated with the franchise, and certainly the RPG genre as a  whole. Gone are NPCs, interactive towns and an immediately open world.

Instead, Final Fantasy XIII is a lot more linear and story driven. Users  observe quite a tightly set route for the first 25 hours or so of  play. Succeeding this, the gameplay branches out and gamers are  free to observe their own selections a little bit more. This  has been a major gripe for some, whereas others welcome the more focussed  and cinematic slant. It actually does depend on your preference.

One  element which has been vastly highly praised is the  fighting system, which comprises an  impressive mesh of X and XII.  Gamers are actually able to ’stack’ attacks, and the more you’ll  be able to stack increases as you level up. Moreover, in Final Fantasy XIII there are numerous different roles your heroes can command,  such as healer and  tank, and gamers are able to shift these roles during fights.

It  goes without saying that the visuals in this title are  wonderful.  Presentation has always been Square Enix’s crux, and the franchise has always  provided high range graphics. As the first of the franchise to hit the  next gen consoles, Final Fantasy XIII is, unquestionably, the prettiest looking title ever. The FMVs  are so detailed and beautiful you may need to stare at  them all day, and the in-game visuals are enough to compete with the FMVs of  lesser games.

Throw in an undoubtedly grand storyline, and you have the  biggest title of the year. It might be a bit different to what you’re  familiar with, yet overall Final Fantasy XIII is simply what everybody’s been  waiting for. Masterful fighting, achingly attractive visuals  and a promised 60+ hours of gameplay mean Final Fantasy is back with a vengeance. Let the  adventure begin.

ps3

You need to khow that The PS3 Slim is a superior product when compared with the PS3 80/160GB models. this not expensive anymore, varied gaming console, property packed, multimedia hub and Blu-ray player, PS3 slim earns back the 5th star that I acknowledged the Classic models and I didn’t consider in predecessors models deserved. These are the reason why should buy the Slim one:

  • A lot smaller. I heard that it was smaller, but seeing is believing! The photos don’t do the system justice, and it’s not real till you see and feel the difference that you are impressed with it. If you can, go into your local game store and check it out for yourself! If you’ve previously owned a Playstation station, you already know the difference the slimmer type makes when compared to the original, bulky ones. What’s really convenient is that the slimmer PS3 not only means your video gaming is more portable, but that you have a really convenient Blu-Ray player.
  • Not a fingerprint magnet. I love the sleek look of my PS3 Fat, but don’t like how it constantly needs to be cleaned. The glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet! The matte finish on the Slim is much easier to maintain. That being said, it doesn’t look as shiny and cool, but I think its convenience outweighs that.
  • More storage. Storage was never an issue for me on my 80GB system, but for those who loved more storage, you get 40GB more with this system (120GB in amount). It may not seem equal much, but you can admit Numerous movies, pictures, and music albums with 120GB. If that’s still not enough, you can always install a 2.5″ hard drive yourself, or better yet, plug in an external hard drive in one of the Universal Serial Bus ports. You can easily get a portable 500GB external hard drive for less than $100, or a bigger, bulkier one with around 1TB of storage for roughly the same. That being said, I think 120GB for $300 should be more than enough for most users, and is a significant improvement over the 80GB for $400 that people were paying just a few weeks ago!
  • Sensational Controller. The Dualshock 3 wireless controller included with The PS3 120GB (PS3 Slim) system provides The most intuitive game play experience, with pressure sensors in each action button and The inclusion of The highly sensitive Sixaxis motion sensing technology. Each hit, crash and explosion is more realistic when The user feels The rumble right in The palm of their hand. It can even find natural movements for real-time and advanced precision interactive activity, playacting as a natural addition of The user’s embody. Dualshock 3 utilizes Bluetooth technology for wireless game play and The controller’s detachable USB cable to seamlessly and automatically charge The controller when connected to The PlayStation 3. By integrating all of these features into The popular PlayStation controller design, The Dualshock 3 further enhances The advanced gameplay experience only available on The PlayStation 3 system.

What’s in The Box.

  • New slimmer and lighter Playstation 3 system with a 120 GB HDD, Internet-ready built-in Wi-Fi, 2 USB ports and HDMI + Bravia Synch output for 1080p resolution and connectivity between other Sony HDMI products.
  • Dualshock 3 wireless controller.
  • AC power cord, AV wire and Universal Serial Bus wire.
  • Free PlayStation Network membership.

So, what are you ready and waiting for? Hot Video Game Console Like This Will SELL OUT VERY QUICKLY, order now to abstain disappointment before the toll raised.

Sales

If you are looking into sales alone then the Wii outsells everything. This console has easily been their worst yet and this comes from someone who owns all of their previous entries. The question to ask is why?

Well the simple reason is that they have stopped caring about all of the Die hard fans and started to generalise their games for the general market which means we are constantly seeing rubbish games in which a Nintendo fan wouldn’t touch with a 10ft barge pole. Mario Kart Wii was at best disappointing as they seemed to take out everything that made Double Dash good. Mario Galaxy 2, nice one Nintendo, lets copy your previous ideas.

The Wii (in my opinion) is certainly out of it already.

Online and other

The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. However, online, although free, is slow, poor and features many people who cannot even speak English within it. I still do not know why language filters are not in there? The PS3 has Blu-Ray but it seems that is the only decent thing it has going for it.

It would certainly seem that the Xbox 360 has the best online service, the best games and the bettter experience. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. Get a 360 or PS3.

To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.

Where do gamers go?

The choices you have as a gamer are:

  1. Buy (Online, Ebay, used, Gamestop..)
  2. Rent (Gamefly, blockbuster…)
  3. Trade (Goozex, Switchplanet..)

Renting in the past at your brick and mortar rental place can easily set you back more then $5-$7 every week like Blockbuster. Many places like Gamefly charge a monthly service fee. Renting isn’t all together bad but playing videogames isn’t like watching movies. Much more time is needed for videogames than movies. Most movies range from 1.5 hours to epics of 6 hours. Where most videogames you could get a good feel for a game in 3 hours but most sports games and long role playing games could be played for more then 70 hours.

This is where Goozex Game Trading steps in. Goozex allows the gamer to keep the game as long as you want but have the option to sell it too. There is only a $1 transaction fee if you request a game on their network. So basically you can trade in your older games and build up Goozex credit until you get enough for a newer title and just pay the $1 transaction fee. A shipping and handling is handled by sender and the buyer only pays . No membership fees so no need to feel you need to use the system. This is ideal in the sense that you could play the game until you are actually sick of it then send it in for credit. No hurry as you play and ship at your own pace. Plus you OWN the game. At that point it is yours.

You only send games directly to the next member. There is no single central warehouse and the pricing of the credits of the system are in points (100pts = $5). The pricing of the game is determined by market demand, release date, initial cost of the game, and a couple other factors. Most xbox 360 titles will go for 800-1000 pts which translates to $40-$50. This isn’t bad for a used game. You could probably save a little bit of money if you bought it at a used gaming store but then you would have to pay tax and actually go to the store. Goozex gives you free shipping to you with no tax charge. You also have an option to buy credits if you want but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you have no games to send in or nothing of yours is being requested. Price fluctuations occur and you can see the points swings. I’ve had a couple games I requested and I can see that price increase/decrease. It doesn’t happen that much but some games change +/- 200pts depending on market demand.

So why use Goozex instead of a used videogame store or an auction site with games like Ebay? You just need $1 to pay for the transaction fee. Most people don’t like to continually shell out more money for a game and then feel like the games they bought are depreciating at a very fast rate. Selling your game for cash anywhere will not give you that much. Selling it to a store they will mark your game up to make money. Selling online is tiresome. You can get great value from Goozex and just trade in games you don’t want with a demand. There might be more difficulty in sending older sports titles as those don’t have much demand once their season is up like trying to sending in EA sports Madden 2005 will be a hard game to sell to someone on the network. Even if you were to put it older games on ebay you will have a hard to moving it and you will have to pay per insertion. You can build your own game list and no insertion fees.

Lots of integrated information like tips and reviews. The best feature is the ability to see how many copies of a game are listed on the network verses how many are being requested. This will let you know if you have a game people want or if you can possibly get a game on the network. Goozex determines who gets the game by matching up users. There is a waiting list that is generated and when you add a game you will see in what place you are waiting for that game. This is a fabulous idea as impatient gamers can tell if they should expect a game soon. There is also a distinction between games you want now and games you have for holding. They will show you your place in line per game. This is a good way to build up a wishlist and then have your core set of games your really want now. It is ideal to have a very large set of games you want now so you will have a very good chance of getting a game soon. I requested Crackdown and I was like 60 people back. Turns out I got the game in less then 2 weeks. Just because you’re really deep in line doesn’t mean you won’t get the game soon. The system can deliver newer games in a short amount of time which is a huge bonus for gamers that want to play newer games but don’t want to buy them at the store. You have many options to what you want to trade in terms of instructions, case or just game. Some people tend to not keep cases or instructions. The value of the game doesn’t go down as the credits don’t reflect what is included. This is because the user requesting the game can have the option to request only full packaged games, games with instructions, or just the game itself. I have not had a problem with getting full packages as I’ve gotten over 49 games and I’ve sent out 54 in under 2 years of being there.

Why NOT to use

For this site to be a perfect 5 star site I would like to see:

1. More users (will there ever be enough?)
2. More retro gaming console support (nes, snes, saturn….)
3. is still not free. I’m a member of another site that has no transaction fees yet still protects the members.
4. Sneak peak video game trailers
5. More community interaction (user reviews, recommendations…)

All the above are small tweaks to the system that is already very functional. The main reason someone would NOT want to use this system is time and money. If you have the dough you would just buy it new down the street? Why wait? The main draw to the site is how much money you can save and the community there. If your not interested in connecting with other gamers and plan to play all your games alone then the only reason to use the system is money. If you wanted to save money but are impatient then this sits is NOT for you. I’ve experienced about 1-2 month turn around time for new games. Why? You are placed in a waiting line. The order of the Que determines when you get the new game, but more importantly is how many are available? Most will eventually get bored of their new game and will send them out as “have” games. The wait times do get long. Say you want a popular game that normally runs 40 hours to complete. You gotta factor in that a player like me would take over 1 month to beat a game like that. More popular games of course like Madden will hit the system quicker but that is also a bad thing. If you hold a game too long it will depreciate in value just like on the streets. Trading for early on might be for 1000 points but in a couple months with the market being saturated it could be 500 points in no time losing half of it’s value. Not entirely the fault of the system but some games just won’t move depending on your timing.

Current Goozex Simultaneous Transaction on the Network as of Mar 11, 2009 = 4793

You probably already know it, Xbox 360 Games offer some of the most incredibly immersive experiences anywhere, online or off.  With smash titles like Halo, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Panzer General : Allied Assault, it’s tough to see what else could probably improve gameplay any more than the long way it is come.  Of course , it was not but 1 or 2 years ago that clunky outdated controllers continued to be used.  These days the user interface has improved noticeably, with on-board accelerometers to process spatial info for human kinetics in gaming.  But something on the horizon may be the most revolutionary thing to hit videogaming at home in our time.

Xbox 360 games can be closely matched to Xbox 360 Accessories for the most seamless experience of really immersive gameplay.  But what if there were no need for any Xbox 360 accessories save one?One ueber-accessory to replace all of them?  Long the stuff of science fiction and comic books, this latest of Xbox 360 Accessories would also be the last.  It would be the single thing needed to play all the Xbox 360 games made from then on.

Never came across it?  That’s because it was just recently announced by Microsoft.  It’s a electronic eye of sorts that will obliterate the requirement for physical controllers, hardware that’s held in one’s hand.  This new soon-to-come electronic eye will sense player movements in space, so hand held controllers with inbuilt accelerometers won’t be required.  This latest advance in gaming technology will be out inside the next year or 2, and may be mounted separately from the console.  But all user movement data will be supplied to the console just the same.  Try to imagine playing computer games with nothing less than your own body and body movements!

This undoubted sorcery eye that Microsoft has been developing will even track eye movements to modify point-of-view in a first-person shooter.  Imagine Halo or Call of Duty or gong of respect without annoying controllers but with instead a light gun and your own body and your own eyes!  As you turn right the screen capture reveals scenery to your right side, and as you turn left the panorama shifts with you!
So while today’s Xbox 360 games are quite complicated, the Xbox accessories to come will require software that rethinks the whole idea of onscreen and off.  Hardware and software exist in a symbiotic relationship, and it is going to be fascinating to see what transpires next now the hardware has taken a quantum jump forward!

With Christmas arriving soon, there are a whole lot of kids who are busy putting together a list of what they want. The PlayStation gaming console is very likely to figure at the top on that list. Now if parents aren’t aware of these gaming consoles, it is going to be a pretty difficult task to find a PlayStation 3 that is ideal~. Firstly, there are five PlayStation consoles and every product has been designed for a specific kind of gaming. The Playstation prices that we tell you about here are an approximate figure and kind of an average cost of the console.

If you are a beginner, then the regular Playstation 3 120GB system is the one to start with and it includes Wi-Fi built in and free membership to the PlayStation network. It comes at a cost of $299.99.

From there, you can go ahead to the next level with the Entertainment Value Bundle from PlayStation 3 and here you have an option – whether it is the games, the console or the Blue-ray movie. All your children’s media collection CDs and DVDs is able to be played on this console. There is a dual shock wireless controller that comes with it in addition to membership to the network and it is ready for the Internet. It costs 9.00 and the 120GB memory as well as the vertical stand is extra.

The Playstation 3 Game Reviews Choice console also offers you a choice – whether it is the dual shock controller, games or the Blu-ray remote. It has an 80GB memory, it is ready for the Internet and you get the PlayStation membership. This as well can play your entire media collection DVDs as well as your CDs. It comes priced at $399.00.

While you go to look for home entertainment, there’s nothing quite like the PlayStation 3 console. Each one has a Blu-ray player which is built in and this guarantees that you get the best possible graphics and gaming excitement. And the factor that this console can play all of your media library CDs and DVDs and you’ll see how amazing it is!

There’s one more thing for those who adore Guitar Hero as well – the Sony PlayStation 3 Ultimate Rock Bundle. Here too, your console has a dual shock 3 wireless controller, hard disk storage, it’s ready to be connected to the Internet and of course, you get your membership to the PlayStation network. You can select the rock band kit that you desire and it provides you with the latest installment of the Guitar Hero World Tours. It is available for $349.00.

This concluding console completes the PlayStation 3 console prices and it is given along with 160GB as well as the uncharted Drakes Game as a bonus. It contains the Drakes Fortune Game, it is is ready for the Internet, you get your PlayStation membership, it comes with a dual shock 3 wireless controller and it also has a voucher that allows you to download the PAIN game. It can be bought for $399.00.

Video games consoles have long been favourite of kids (even grown up kids) for many years, the first video games machine was probably the pong game from the 1970’s but over the years as technology has progressed video games have become more and more immersive and detailed with stunningly life-like graphics, mind blowing surround sound effects and game play that the whole family can enjoy.

The latest generation of home video games consoles has almost every member of the family covered; some consoles are even being introduced in retirement homes for seniors to enjoy. More consoles are moving towards getting the player out of their seat and with the Nintendo Wii and forthcoming motion controllers for both the Xbox 360 and Sony PS3 it is clear that video games are once again changing the way we think about gaming.

Sony PS3

The Sony Playstation brand is well known with millions of units sold all over the world the Playstation 2 was the leader in sales for the last generation but the newer, more advanced entertainment behemoth PS3 has had a less meteoric rise. The price of the system was deemed very steep with the new Blu-Ray capabilities being argued as the reasoning behind a higher than usual price point. But with other consoles having to play catch up with additional purchases need to match the PS3 the price soon matches the PS3. With Blu-Rays being the new standard for home videos the PS3 is fully up to date with modern entertainment systems, not just games.

Xbox 360

Microsoft have learnt from their mistakes with the first Xbox and come back with a console that is close to the PS3 technology wise, being released earlier and for a lower price than the PS3 the 360 has a much larger fan base at this point, an interesting reversal of roles for Microsoft and Sony. The 360’s main advantage is a huge online community called Xbox Live where many people all over the country pay for an online service that makes multiplayer gaming effortless and without faults. The Xbox also comes in a variety of different versions with different features so you can buy a basic version for less money.

Nintendo Wii

The Nintendo Wii does not have the same power as the Xbox or PS3 but does have significant advances hidden inside its tiny casing. The Wii is controlled by the moments you make holding the remote control. Playing games like tennis and bowling are excellent with the remote imitating all of your real life movements and making the character in the game do your exact same move. The Nintendo console has been seen as a much more accessible console with games aimed not at the hardcore shoot ‘em up crowd and more at casual gamers who want a simple game that is fun to play.

There are all sorts of crowds which each console appeals to with some people able to buy two or all three. The important thing to remember is that video games are meant to be a bit of fun and when choosing one to buy you should see which one suits your expectations best.
