Top Video Game Reviews » Wii

wii

The biggest thing about the Wii is it’s new controller. Instead of the conventional two-handed gamepad with 2-4 buttons and any analog sticks, the Wii’s input method is shaped equal a TV remote controller. It has a couple of buttons on it, but not nearly as many as the average controller. How can you play complex games with such a simple controller? The answer is motion control.

The Wii’s controller has accelerometers inside of it, allowing it to sense when you wave, swing, punch, stab, or shake. It can also interact with a sensor bar placed on top of the television to make a pointer for the TV. For example, to select a menu option, you right lie at the alternative with the remote and push the A button. This creates a full new play experience. It’s like one of those arcade games at the local mall, but it works better, and no more 25 cents per turn!

The device is also very comfy. For games that would need two analog sticks, such as shooters, there is a connectable perephial with an analog stick and two shoulder buttons, which is called the Nunchuk. In a shooting game, this would handle movement and the remote would handle the aiming. It takes a very shortened quantity of term to get used to, but once you do, it is often more cozy than the standard controller. You can spread your hands out instead of hunched up, holding your hands together.

The Nintendo Wii Remote is functional, efficient, comfortable, and smart. It is so much better than controllers of the past, and I hope this is a sign of things to come from Nintendo.
Nintendo has always been notable as a “Kid’s Console” - but I really do consider with the Wii that they love become a “Family Console”. It’s not just kids who will enjoy this. Seniors can have fun bowling without knowing anything “Tricky” about how to use a video game unit. It’s very intuitive. Moms can easily play with their kids, each with their own Wii profile. Adults having parties can have fun passing the controllers around. Family groups can share slideshows on the big screen while hanging out and drinking wine. Every person who has come over - from 8 to adult - has instantly understood and enjoyed the Wii, without much explanation at all.

So, what are you expecting for? Hot Video Game Like This Will SELL OUT VERY QUICKLY, order now to avoid disappointment before the price raised. Buy Wii Game Console.

Tiger Woods has all the glory when it comes to golf on computer games but are there other alternatives and if so, are they actually any good~Although of course Tiger Woods seems to have most of the market when it comes to the golfing games there are alternatives out there it just the question is, are they any good~Although there are many other games out there it would seem that Tiger Woods is the key one in the community however what are the others like}?

Tiger Woods

Although this blog isnt really going to go into much detail on this blog it is has to be in here because it is the best golf game currently out there. The main reason for this isn’t because Tiger Woods is on the front of it but because the PGA tour features within the game itself. This means that you not only get to play as worlds no.1 but you also get to play as other cool famous golfers. It would seem like this game is for the people who play golf as it is really realisitc.

Wii Sports

Okay so it doesn’t really compare to Tiger Woods when it comes to the graphics but when it comes to game play it is actually quite a fun game. A good thing about this game is that if for some reason you are getting a bit bored with the golf you can switch to one of the others and have a bit of a mess around.

Super Swing Golf

This is another game that cannot really be compared to Tiger Woods however it is a very fun game to play with the kids and some of the people in it are a bit crazy.

Mario Golf

A lot of these games have been released and they are my favourite outside of the Tiger Woods games because they add the best range of things to do. It is always fun to play as one of your favourite Mario characters which is another reason on why it is a good game.

It is wondered if any of these golfers have golf batteries. They would certainly need those 12v batteries to power some of their golf trolleys.

Sales

If you are looking into sales alone then the Wii outsells everything. This console has easily been their worst yet and this comes from someone who owns all of their previous entries. The question to ask is why?

Well the simple reason is that they have stopped caring about all of the Die hard fans and started to generalise their games for the general market which means we are constantly seeing rubbish games in which a Nintendo fan wouldn’t touch with a 10ft barge pole. Mario Kart Wii was at best disappointing as they seemed to take out everything that made Double Dash good. Mario Galaxy 2, nice one Nintendo, lets copy your previous ideas.

The Wii (in my opinion) is certainly out of it already.

Online and other

The PS3 is a good console there is no doubt about that and games such as uncharted 2 show just how far the console can go. However, online, although free, is slow, poor and features many people who cannot even speak English within it. I still do not know why language filters are not in there? The PS3 has Blu-Ray but it seems that is the only decent thing it has going for it.

It would certainly seem that the Xbox 360 has the best online service, the best games and the bettter experience. So my recommendation to you is not to get a Wii for the family as it will only be played once. Get a 360 or PS3.

To make sure these will not have to be replaced for some serious money, get game console insurance or gadget insurance. Of course you could also get some mobile phone insurance while you are at it.

Where do gamers go?

The choices you have as a gamer are:

  1. Buy (Online, Ebay, used, Gamestop..)
  2. Rent (Gamefly, blockbuster…)
  3. Trade (Goozex, Switchplanet..)

Renting in the past at your brick and mortar rental place can easily set you back more then $5-$7 every week like Blockbuster. Many places like Gamefly charge a monthly service fee. Renting isn’t all together bad but playing videogames isn’t like watching movies. Much more time is needed for videogames than movies. Most movies range from 1.5 hours to epics of 6 hours. Where most videogames you could get a good feel for a game in 3 hours but most sports games and long role playing games could be played for more then 70 hours.

This is where Goozex Game Trading steps in. Goozex allows the gamer to keep the game as long as you want but have the option to sell it too. There is only a $1 transaction fee if you request a game on their network. So basically you can trade in your older games and build up Goozex credit until you get enough for a newer title and just pay the $1 transaction fee. A shipping and handling is handled by sender and the buyer only pays . No membership fees so no need to feel you need to use the system. This is ideal in the sense that you could play the game until you are actually sick of it then send it in for credit. No hurry as you play and ship at your own pace. Plus you OWN the game. At that point it is yours.

You only send games directly to the next member. There is no single central warehouse and the pricing of the credits of the system are in points (100pts = $5). The pricing of the game is determined by market demand, release date, initial cost of the game, and a couple other factors. Most xbox 360 titles will go for 800-1000 pts which translates to $40-$50. This isn’t bad for a used game. You could probably save a little bit of money if you bought it at a used gaming store but then you would have to pay tax and actually go to the store. Goozex gives you free shipping to you with no tax charge. You also have an option to buy credits if you want but I wouldn’t recommend that unless you have no games to send in or nothing of yours is being requested. Price fluctuations occur and you can see the points swings. I’ve had a couple games I requested and I can see that price increase/decrease. It doesn’t happen that much but some games change +/- 200pts depending on market demand.

So why use Goozex instead of a used videogame store or an auction site with games like Ebay? You just need $1 to pay for the transaction fee. Most people don’t like to continually shell out more money for a game and then feel like the games they bought are depreciating at a very fast rate. Selling your game for cash anywhere will not give you that much. Selling it to a store they will mark your game up to make money. Selling online is tiresome. You can get great value from Goozex and just trade in games you don’t want with a demand. There might be more difficulty in sending older sports titles as those don’t have much demand once their season is up like trying to sending in EA sports Madden 2005 will be a hard game to sell to someone on the network. Even if you were to put it older games on ebay you will have a hard to moving it and you will have to pay per insertion. You can build your own game list and no insertion fees.

Lots of integrated information like tips and reviews. The best feature is the ability to see how many copies of a game are listed on the network verses how many are being requested. This will let you know if you have a game people want or if you can possibly get a game on the network. Goozex determines who gets the game by matching up users. There is a waiting list that is generated and when you add a game you will see in what place you are waiting for that game. This is a fabulous idea as impatient gamers can tell if they should expect a game soon. There is also a distinction between games you want now and games you have for holding. They will show you your place in line per game. This is a good way to build up a wishlist and then have your core set of games your really want now. It is ideal to have a very large set of games you want now so you will have a very good chance of getting a game soon. I requested Crackdown and I was like 60 people back. Turns out I got the game in less then 2 weeks. Just because you’re really deep in line doesn’t mean you won’t get the game soon. The system can deliver newer games in a short amount of time which is a huge bonus for gamers that want to play newer games but don’t want to buy them at the store. You have many options to what you want to trade in terms of instructions, case or just game. Some people tend to not keep cases or instructions. The value of the game doesn’t go down as the credits don’t reflect what is included. This is because the user requesting the game can have the option to request only full packaged games, games with instructions, or just the game itself. I have not had a problem with getting full packages as I’ve gotten over 49 games and I’ve sent out 54 in under 2 years of being there.

Why NOT to use

For this site to be a perfect 5 star site I would like to see:

1. More users (will there ever be enough?)
2. More retro gaming console support (nes, snes, saturn….)
3. is still not free. I’m a member of another site that has no transaction fees yet still protects the members.
4. Sneak peak video game trailers
5. More community interaction (user reviews, recommendations…)

All the above are small tweaks to the system that is already very functional. The main reason someone would NOT want to use this system is time and money. If you have the dough you would just buy it new down the street? Why wait? The main draw to the site is how much money you can save and the community there. If your not interested in connecting with other gamers and plan to play all your games alone then the only reason to use the system is money. If you wanted to save money but are impatient then this sits is NOT for you. I’ve experienced about 1-2 month turn around time for new games. Why? You are placed in a waiting line. The order of the Que determines when you get the new game, but more importantly is how many are available? Most will eventually get bored of their new game and will send them out as “have” games. The wait times do get long. Say you want a popular game that normally runs 40 hours to complete. You gotta factor in that a player like me would take over 1 month to beat a game like that. More popular games of course like Madden will hit the system quicker but that is also a bad thing. If you hold a game too long it will depreciate in value just like on the streets. Trading for early on might be for 1000 points but in a couple months with the market being saturated it could be 500 points in no time losing half of it’s value. Not entirely the fault of the system but some games just won’t move depending on your timing.

Current Goozex Simultaneous Transaction on the Network as of Mar 11, 2009 = 4793

You probably already know it, Xbox 360 Games offer some of the most incredibly immersive experiences anywhere, online or off.  With smash titles like Halo, Fallout, Call of Duty, and Panzer General : Allied Assault, it’s tough to see what else could probably improve gameplay any more than the long way it is come.  Of course , it was not but 1 or 2 years ago that clunky outdated controllers continued to be used.  These days the user interface has improved noticeably, with on-board accelerometers to process spatial info for human kinetics in gaming.  But something on the horizon may be the most revolutionary thing to hit videogaming at home in our time.

Xbox 360 games can be closely matched to Xbox 360 Accessories for the most seamless experience of really immersive gameplay.  But what if there were no need for any Xbox 360 accessories save one?One ueber-accessory to replace all of them?  Long the stuff of science fiction and comic books, this latest of Xbox 360 Accessories would also be the last.  It would be the single thing needed to play all the Xbox 360 games made from then on.

Never came across it?  That’s because it was just recently announced by Microsoft.  It’s a electronic eye of sorts that will obliterate the requirement for physical controllers, hardware that’s held in one’s hand.  This new soon-to-come electronic eye will sense player movements in space, so hand held controllers with inbuilt accelerometers won’t be required.  This latest advance in gaming technology will be out inside the next year or 2, and may be mounted separately from the console.  But all user movement data will be supplied to the console just the same.  Try to imagine playing computer games with nothing less than your own body and body movements!

This undoubted sorcery eye that Microsoft has been developing will even track eye movements to modify point-of-view in a first-person shooter.  Imagine Halo or Call of Duty or gong of respect without annoying controllers but with instead a light gun and your own body and your own eyes!  As you turn right the screen capture reveals scenery to your right side, and as you turn left the panorama shifts with you!
So while today’s Xbox 360 games are quite complicated, the Xbox accessories to come will require software that rethinks the whole idea of onscreen and off.  Hardware and software exist in a symbiotic relationship, and it is going to be fascinating to see what transpires next now the hardware has taken a quantum jump forward!

The constantly increasing popularity of the Nintendo Wii has also created a burgeoning search for Nintendo Wii cheats. As game consoles like the Wii have now become a massive aspect of our community, the necessity to finish the titles successfully has grown. But as you will doubtless know, ‘beating the game’ can occasionally be very tough, and so there is not any harm in progressing with a cheat here or there.

However, there are a selection of gamers who employ Nintendo Wii cheats to get a fast fix to getting stuck on a certain level of a game. But what if these areas were created so that you do get stuck? The rationale could be that if you use your wit and imagination in making an attempt to solve the problem you could discover a completely new enjoyment to the game.

Luckily, there are more categories of Nintendo Wii cheats that you might wish to use. These cheats allow you to have some fun without always changing the gameplay. These let you unlock secret features that could be present in certain stages of the gameplay. This is often known as an ‘Easter Egg’ in gamer’s speak and can add extra surprise and enjoyment to the gameplay.

Players are completely justified if you say you would like to play the title with complete freedom, without the demand of having to complete one specific level in order to progress on to the next. But in your desire to get to the end of the game, it’d be smart to take care not to spoil the interactions with the videogame by using Nintendo Wii cheats.

Nintendo Wii was created to offer interactive entertainment to game-players of all ages. Complicated titles for which you’ve got to rack your brains aren’t a part of the package as Wii is focused on relaxing, not taxing your thoughts. So in the process of making a straightforward game even less complicated by using Nintendo Wii cheats you might be missing the subtleties of the gameplay.

Put simply, only employ the Nintendo Wii cheats where fully needed and experience the game to the end!

If you have attempted multiplayer Mario Kart Wii over WiFi, then you can side with us as we say that it is amongst the finest online gaming experiences you will ever experience in this world.  The buzz of participating opposite rival gamers and racing with them across several courses is truly breathtaking.

So how brilliant is a multiplayer game of Mario Kart Wii?

Imagine this : you are controlling Mario’s fave go kart-style car, and you’re trailing at second place on the last lap.  You’re gaining momentum, and the rival in pole place is in view.  You know you’ll be able to overtake them on the next bend, as quick turn drifts are your skill.  The bend approaches,  you’re right at their tail.  You hit the gas and reverse at the same time.  You twist your wheel and drift just past your rival.

This is the fun that can be found with a multiplayer match of Mario Kart Wii.  You will not be competing against the computer AI.  You’ll be playing against live folks from different parts of the Earth.  They’re living, breathing, cognitive gamers who will respond accordingly to the scenarios encountered by each round.  This makes each game harder, and ultimately, more rewarding.

Do you aspire to become a master Mario Kart Wii player?  Here are a collection of tips that may assist you enhance your game:

- Perfect the ‘rocket start.’ This is a staple of each Mario Kart game. Effectively performing the rocket start will give you an early edge in the competition.  To perform the rocket start, press the gas button as fast as the timer counts down to 2.  You need to perfect your timing however, as being inaccurate for only a millisecond will compromise the technique.

- Collisions are best avoided.  As much as humanly possible, avoid colliding with other opponents as this will reduce your speed and it’ll take time before you work up to your top once more.  Instead of racing side-by-side with opponents, try and tail them, enabling you to know where they are.  Then overtake your opponent when your boost power is ready.  This way, you’ll be way ahead of them and out of crashing range once the boost wears off.

- Either learn the way to drift or learn how to ease off the accelerator button.  The majority of players are plain impatient.  They need to step on the acceleration at most times and run over every obstacle in a track, including walls on corners.  However, you won’t be in a position to make most turns at increased speed.  You will need to find out how to drift or relent with the gas command to slow you down a bit, enough to make the acute turns found in Mario Kart Wii.

Recently, at the yearly Electronic Entertainment Expo conference, Sony plugged what they refer to as the Sony Playstation Eye. Ring any bells? You are recalling Sony’s EyeToy, a device for the Playstation 2 that allowed for the identification of the real time actions of the gamer. The Eye broadens this idea in certain very fascinating functions, although they are not ultimately unseen ones. Having said that, it really is hard to tell just to what extent this feature will truly influence the console world, if it does.

If you didn’t see E3, perhaps the key functions of  Sony Playstation Eye is its motion sensing. How this sensing is captured is through the following of the glowing orb at the edge of the remote distributed for the Eye. Sony’s producers proceeded to show a live demonstration of the feature’s possibilities, using the remote to correspond with a 3D interface inside the TV screen and demonstrating just how the could be added to genres like first-person shooters, real-time strategy, and also action. Every movement the gamer performs with the remote is projected onscreen with 1:1 precision.

But see, does not that sound familiar? At last year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo, Nintendo accomplished the very same thing with their Wii Motion Plus peripheral. It also recognises and copies actions at one to one precision. The single clear disparity amid the 2 peripherals is that the Sony Playstation Eye needs an augmented edition of the EyeToy camera to track the remotes, whereas Nintendo’s Wii Motion Plus attaches to to an unseen sensor bar without cables. It seems Sony’s newest approach could be less cutting edge in light of last year’s Nintendo technology.

Although following in the footsteps of readily available features, the Eye stays an impressive piece of hardware that’s certain to appeal to most every fan of the PlayStation 3. Although it can’t greatly change the realm of gaming altogether, the Sony Playstation Eye does provide a step forward for Sony’s credibility, and might perhaps help the developers catch up in regard to improvement.
