Enchanting is not the easiest profession to level in Wow, to contrary. This profession has many useful aspects to offer to any player who chooses to level it. Enchanting pieces of your gear will provide them with the improved statistics, contributing to the much better class-specific performance of your character. Click here for more on WoW Enchanting

Disenchanting Ability

Ability to Disenchant is acquired as soon as you learn Enchanting as your primary profession. Any uncommon, rare and epic item you don’t need, even if it is SB (soulbound) you will be able to disenchant into valuable essences, shards or dust. These products of disenchanting can be further used to enchant some other items or to bring you a nice profit if you decide to sell them on the Auction House.

Gear is expandable. You will change a great number of gear sets through your leveling process, but also when you reach the end level. With the new dungeons and raids, new tier sets, etc. your need for improvement will just grow. Any item that you wore will become useless once you get a new and better one, and all you can do is sell it to the vendor for a small amount of gold. By disenchanting your old gear you will benefit much more.

Enchanting assets

With Enchanting you will be able to further enhance statistics of your characters’ items. However, specific benefits you will gain are definitely the ring enchants. You will be able to enchant your own rings to wear the desired statistics depending on your class’ needs and only the Enchanter will be able to have his rings enchanted. It is especially useful for healing and dps classes, and there is a great number of players who decide to level up Enchanting for the ring enchants solely.

What does Enchanting require?

A future Enchanter firstly needs a trainer from whom he will learn the skills. All major cities throughout Azeroth, Northrend and Outland have Enchanting trainers who can teach you new skills. The next requirement for the Enchanter to be able to perform the skill is the appropriate Enchanting Rod. At certain skill levels as he improves, the Enchanter will need to acquire the improved Enchanting Rod as well. Enchanters can make those rods by themselves, although they will need to acquire the appropriate Fel Iron, Arcanite, Titanium, Adamantite or some other type of rod from a Blacksmith player.

How to obtain Enchanting mats

Main source of materials for an Enchanter is his disenchanting skill. Still, in order to come in the possession of the required uncommon or rare items, a player will need to farm a lot or to buy these items from the AH. This comes are very time-taking and expensive. Enchanters will do best if they pair up Enchanting with some crafting primary profession, like Tailoring. For making new items with Tailoring, you will need a great number of cloths. As cloth is really easy to grind this profession combo can be the perfect solution.

Is Enchanting Profitable?

As an Enchanter you can easily make a nice profit by selling your skills or by selling the disenchanted items. If you plan to collect fees, higher enchanting skills will enable you to demand higher fees for your services. As for disenchanting the items, it will be fairly easy since most players need shards, essences and dust for their own enchants. Enchanting, a primary profession in Warcraft, can be both one of the easiest and potentially one of the more profitable professions. We’ll take a look at what enchanting is, the various profession levels and the levels your character need to be at in the following WoW Enchanting Guide.

Enchanting is simply being able to either give magic to an item or take it away from an item. When you’ve taken magic from an item you can store it as essence or dust. This ability to enchant items can give you the chance to make a healthy profit by enchanting items for other players.

WoW Enchanting Guide – Levels

If you already have a level 5 character, which is required, then all you need to do is find a trainer. These trainers can be found in large cities. Ask a guard for a trainer if you can’t find one yourself. Trainers can be found in Stormwind and Silvermoon among other places. Here’s how the levels break down, notice the level your character needs to be at in order to ascend to each level. Read more about leveling in the Enchanting Leveling Guide

  • Apprentice: Character Level 5; Skill Levels 1-75
  • Journeyman: Character Level 10; Skill Levels 50-150
  • Expert: Character Level 20; Skill Levels 125-225
  • Artisan: Character Level 35; Skill Levels 200-300
  • Master: Character Level 50; Skill Levels 300-375

As I mentioned, the enchanting profession itself is pretty easy, but leveling can be a little challenging. This WoW Enchanting guide won’t go into the details of leveling.

One really important thing you should know is that leveling enchanting can be potentially very expensive, so make sure to consider this before you choose it as a profession. Just to give you some idea of this it can take up to 500 gold to level enchanting to level 300 and 5000 gold to level all the way to 375. As of the release of Wrath of the Lich King, there are a total of 450 levels for this profession. Leveling will only become more expensive and difficult as you go up the levels.

Let’s start with what enchanting is and how it works in WoW.

In World Of Warcraft enchanting is a primary profession that any race or class can do.The blood elves have an increased enchanting ability or lead if you wish to play them.

Enchanting does not require gathering so that is a plus and it goes well with tailoring.

WoW Enchanting Guide Pg 1

As an enchanter you will or can place enchants on many different items such as armour or weapons to make them more powerful and other World Of Warcraft players will want these enchanted weapons.

Other World Of Warcraft players might be looking for a particular enchanted item so you can sell these to them.

At the very beginning your enchants and enchanting skills are very basic and not everyone might need lower level enchanted items, but don’t give up as in the higher levels is where you will make most of your gold.

It is not the easiest of professions to learn and can be a bit boring and expensive I find, but it is still very popular.

Enchanting summed up, begin by doing a disenchant on various items and when you perform this you actually break the item down into its core elements that you might need to level up.

So in a nutshell you are taking certain (expensive maybe) items and do not sell them but break them down into core elements to be reused.

Remember once again that items that are disenchanted cannot be undone. You can find the items you need to disenchant from the AH or from other players or various other sources.

Formulae are extra enchanting recipes that you can locate from sometimes hidden trainers or drops from monsters etc…

Do a disenchant on armour and you get mainly types of dusts.

Performing a disenchant on weapons will give you mostly an essence.

You will find a shard if you disenchant blue items.

Disenchant purple items and you will obtain a nexus crystal or a void crystal.
